Nature Photographer of the Year


Los Angeles, CALIFORNIA - August 16, 2007 - The Pilsner Urquell International Photography Awards today announced winners of the 2007 competition. Over 45,000 entries from over 100 countries making IPA the most important photo competition out there. Austria-based photographer Josef Hoflehner wins the main-category "Nature" and was named "Nature Photographer of the Year"

Josef Hoflehner is now also nominated for a "Lucie" at the 2007 Lucie Awards at the Lincoln Center in New York City on October 15, 2007. The Lucie Awards in the photography world are the equivalent of the Academy Awards (Oscars) in the motion film industry. The award ceremony is a glittering mix of photography, media industry insiders and Hollywood celebrities. Previous honorees include Henri Cartier-Bresson, Elliott Erwitt, Ralph Gibson, and William Klein.
