Banana Republic collection

American fashion retailer Banana Republic is a prominent collector of my photographs. Here is an iPad-snap of two large Golden Gate prints installed in one of their stores.

New Series: Havana

"Havana" is an all-new photographic series I have recently been working on together my son Jakob. Shooting has originally been scheduled for Spring 2011, however, the night before departure, our entire photographic equipment was stolen from our studio, resulting in a $250,000 loss (later covered by insurance) and the delay of the project. Now, more than a year later we've finally made it to Cuba. Fifty-nine (59) street photographs, taken in historic centre of Havana and nearby coastal areas have just gone online. The photographs mainly feature the classic American cars from the 1950s: Fords, Chevys, Buicks, Pontiacs, ...

The US embargo against Cuba was introduced in 1960, ending trade between the two countries. This resulted that US cars from the 1950s (and 40s) are still hitting the roads in Cuba these days - some in mint condition, others on the verge of collapse. However, old Russian Ladas and modern, uninspired cars from Germany, France, and the Far East already outnumber the Classics. Just about 10% of the cars seen on the streets in Cuba today are American make.

Prints of the new series are available in three sizes: 50x50cm (edition of 15), 100x100cm (edition of 5), 150x150cm (edition of 5).

Paris Solo-Exhibition

My second solo-exhibition in Paris, France has opened on June 14th. More than 40 new works in the various print sizes will be on display until September 10th, 2012, including from Vietnam, Singapore, New York City, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Australia, as well as from the Jet Airliner series.

Solo-Exhibition in New York City

I'm proud to announce that on May 3rd, my second solo-exhibition at the Bonni Benrubi Gallery in New York has opened. The gallery is located only a few steps from the glamorous 5th Avenue, and until July 6th they are showing more than 20 prints, mainly new work from Peru, Chile, Singapore, Zanzibar and Florida.

New work from Vietnam

It's been more than five years since my first trip to Vietnam, and it's been more than five years since I wanted to go back. Early this year, I finally spent about two weeks there, exploring new locations and re-visiting some locations from the 2007 trip.

"Fragile Hut" and "Mangrove Tree", taken back in January 2007, are now two of my most iconic photographs of all my work. I wanted to pay especially these two places a visit, but sadly, both the hut and the tree were no longer there -- simply gone. The good thing is, that there is still a small number of prints available in the various print sizes.

Solo-Exhibition in Graz, Austria

I'm pleased to announce that the Atelier Jungwirth in Graz is currently showing more than 40 of my original prints in various sizes in their wonderful gallery space. The solo-exhibtion kicked-off Saturday, October 1st, and will run thru January 15th, 2012.

Jet Airliner @ Hamptons Designer Showhouse

Two 40"x40" Jet Airliner prints are part of the 2011 Hampton Designer Showhouse in Bridgehampton, New York. "The Hampton Designer Showhouse, now in its eleventh year, is a showcase for America’s premiere design talent. Approximately 25 top interior designers and decorative artists will turn a lavish shingle style home into a decorating masterpiece." The Hampton Designer Showhouse is on the market for $6.45 Million.
